Background

In 1997, Hoedown guest Peter Leidy entered the "Performance Art" Jell-O contest category. With Jell-O boxes taped to his shirt, this guest sang an a cappella medley Jell-O tunes.

In subsequent years, the hostess has crafted full-length tunes based on this early work and added a few new numbers. Hoedown guest Kristi Shepard contributed "Celebrate" and "It's Hoedown Time," the latter because she thought it time for the country western genre to win representation on the Hoedown lineup.
